Album review
This album is a punk record through and through. Dabbling in hardcore, indie punk, surf punk, but never straying from the punchy dancable riffs you came for. Some of the songs struggle in being memorable and a couple choruses that don't land as hard as they could bring it down a bit, but still a thoroughly enjoyable listen.
Favorite Tracks: Fightgeist, Gates To Heaven, Pack It In, When I'm Good
For Fans Of: Turnstile, Scowl, SPACED
Track by track:
Fightgeist: Short and punchy, wastes no time getting to what you're here for. Sick breakdown to boot. Great transition to next song.
Guillotine: Chuggy riff, not as memorable as it could have been. Solid though.
Feelings On Tick: Less heavy than the previous songs, almost poppy at points, but still a punk song through and through.
Gates To Heaven: This song makes you want to move. Fast, and energetic. Bridge is amazing, the rhythmic switchup with the cowbell is is such a highlight. Breakdown at the end kicks so much ass.
Pack It In: Catchy as heck. The vocal hook in the chorus is awesome. One of the less heavy songs for sure, but still hits hard.
In The Way Again: A bit slower, but still punchy especially during the chorus.
Pay To Win: Good jam. Hits sometimes, although the chorus isn't that memorable
White Hot Heat: Clean vocals that work great. Some alt rock vibes on this one. Guitar solo!
Rockstar: Amazing verse riff, super danceable. Chorus sounds very unique on this record in a good way. The lead guitar introduced adds a great element of making the chorus flow. Breakdown leaves a little to be desired, but doesn't detract from the other elements of this song.
When I'm Good: A bit of surf punk vibes on this closer, they turn on the chorus effect for some of the verses and it doesn't feel out of place at all. Riffs are punchy as ever and the chorus is really catchy.
